I am a Professor of Geography at Bangor University with research interests in the sustainable management of land and nutrients in catchments, improving the efficiency of nutrients in agricultural and urban cycles, the interaction between land use and water quality, eutrophication control, and the provision of ecosystem services across the land-water interface. My main research focus has been on the cycling of phosphorus in agricultural systems, transfers and control of phosphorus loss from agricultural land into water and the coupling of phosphorus, nitrogen and carbon in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. I am associate editor of the journal Soil Use and Management and has published over 75 peer-reviewed papers.
